Senate approves N404bn Police Trust Fund budgets for 2025, 2026

The Senate has approved a full fund of N404.07 cardinal for the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF), giving the greenish airy to its 2025 and 2026 expenditure plans aimed astatine improving policing, information operations and infrastructure nationwide.

The approved allocation includes N170.10 cardinal for the 2025 fiscal twelvemonth and N233.96 cardinal for 2026.

The support followed the adoption of the study presented by the Senate Committee connected Police Affairs.

The study was delivered by Senator Yunus Akintunde, representing Oyo Central, connected behalf of the committee chairman, Senator Ahmad Mallam-Madori of Jigawa North-East.

While presenting the report, Akintunde explained that the 2025 fund had to beryllium resubmitted due to the fact that its earlier implementation was delayed by ineligible issues linked to projected amendments to the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (Establishment) Act.
