‘Parents can’t feed their families, yet you raised WAEC, NECO fees’ — Civil Society knocks Nigerian Govt

A Civil Society Organization, the Campaign for Equal Rights and Opportunities for All Nigerians, CERON, has condemned the support of the Federal Government to rise the registration interest for the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, and the National Examinations Council, NECO, to N50,000.

A connection by the group’s Secretary, Francis Odiir, described the determination arsenic insensitive to the economical hardship confronting millions of Nigerians.

This came aft the Federal Ministry of Education’s directive approving the caller registration interest for candidates sitting some examinations.

“The organisation argued that the summation would spot an further fiscal load connected parents already struggling with rising nutrient prices, ostentation and the precocious outgo of living.

“Parents are already battling to supply nutrient for their families, not to notation prime education. At a clip similar this, expanding introspection fees is simply not right. Rather than easing the load connected citizens, the authorities is adding to their hardship,” Odiir said
