Court fixes October 29 to hear suit challenging suspension of Lagos TUC Chairman

The National Industrial Court, NIC, sitting successful Lagos has fixed October 29 for the proceeding of a suit challenging the suspension of the Chairman of the Trade Union Congress, TUC, Lagos State Council, Biodun Aladetan, by the union’s nationalist leadership.

The matter, marked NICN/LA/129/2026, came up earlier the tribunal past Thursday but was adjourned to alteration the proceeding of the question connected notice.

The tribunal besides directed that the alleged harassment and intimidation of Aladetan by the nationalist enactment of the legislature should cease pending the determination of the case.

Aladetan was suspended successful February 2026 by the TUC National Administrative Council implicit allegations of anti-union activities and insubordination. He is, however, challenging the legality of the disciplinary enactment earlier the court.

In the originating summons, the claimant is asking the tribunal to state his suspension unlawful, null and void.
