Benue: Police rescue kidnapped travellers after gun battle with abductors

The Benue State Police Command has rescued 8 passengers abducted by suspected kidnappers on the Ankpenchi-Ogobia axis of Ohimini Local Government Area.

The State Commissioner of Police, Cletus Nwadiogbu, disclosed this on Friday during a property briefing astatine the bid office successful Makurdi.

According to him, the 8 victims were portion of 13 passengers kidnapped erstwhile equipped men attacked a commercialized autobus travelling from Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, to Abuja.

He explained that 4 of the passengers were rescued soon aft the incident, portion the remaining 9 were taken deeper into the wood by the kidnappers.
