World Athletics blocks Favour Ofili’s request to dump Nigeria for Turkey

World Athletics has rejected an exertion from Nigerian sprinter, Favour Ofili, to power her allegiance to Turkey.

This is simply a large stroke to Ofili, who was hoping to correspond the European state astatine the 2028 Olympics.

In a papers released connected Thursday, the World Athletics Nationality Review Panel ruled that the exertion submitted by the Türkiye Athletics Federation would not beryllium approved aft reviewing the circumstances surrounding the request.

The sheet noted that granting the petition would undermine cardinal regulatory principles guiding planetary athletics.
