Police arrest five suspected kidnappers in Delta, recover AK47 rifle, ammunition

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command’s Tactical Team based successful Ughelli person arrested 5 suspected kidnappers terrorizing Ughelli-Warri road.

He said,”On 24 April 2026 astatine astir 1830hrs, operatives of the command’s tactical squad based successful Ughelli, acting connected credible quality arrested 1 Ahmadu Usman (m), 22, a autochthonal of Lafiya, Nasarawa State, astatine Ekuigbo country of Ughelli successful transportation with a kidnapping syndicate terrorising commuters on Ughelli–Warri Road.”

According to him, “Further interrogation led to the apprehension of Haruna Abdullahi (m), 37, astatine a Trailer Park on Warri–Sapele Road and 1 AK-47 firearm loaded with thirty-six (36) rounds of 7.62mm unrecorded ammunition was recovered from them.

“Suspects are successful custody and probe is ongoing.”
