Osun Assembly passes amended bill on local government laws

Osun House of Assembly connected Monday passed the measure amending immoderate sections of the authorities section authorities law

DAILY POST reports that the Bill titled “Osun State Local Government Amendment No 2 Bill 2026” was passed aft the 3rd speechmaking astatine the Assembly’s plenary successful Osogbo.

Meanwhile, the Assembly’s Committee Chairman connected Public Account, Mr Lawal Bamidele, had earlier presented and submitted the committee’s study connected the measure with intending recommendations.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Mr Adewale Egbedun, had called for the adoption of the report, portion Mr Babajide Adewumi, the Majority Leader, moved the question for its adoption.

The question for the bill’s 3rd speechmaking was besides moved by Adewumi and was thereafter passed.

Egbedun, aft the bill’s passage, said cleanable copies would beryllium forwarded to Governor Ademola Adeleke, for his assent.

The Bill is to amend the Osun State Local Government Law Cap 72 Vol. IV, Laws of Osun State 2002 and different matters therein.

The House, however, adjourned sitting to March 2.
