Diri’s Chief of Staff, Pastor Peter Akpe emerges Bayelsa Deputy Governor

The Bayelsa State House of Assembly has approved the assignment of Peter Akpe arsenic the Deputy Governor of the state.

The Assembly gave the support during plenary connected Tuesday.

The assignment followed the decease of erstwhile lawman governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, who slumped and died successful December 2025

Ewhrudjakpo was buried connected January 30, 2026, successful his hometown, Ofoni, Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

Akpe, a pastor, served arsenic Chief of Staff to Governor Douye Diri, anterior to his nomination.
