The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced the postponement of the projected nationwide elector revalidation exercise.
This follows a gathering with the Resident Electoral Commissioners, RECs, connected Friday, April 10.
Following deliberations, the Commission resolved to postpone the workout until aft the 2027 General Election.
A connection signed by INEC’s National Commissioner, Chairman, Informationa and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Kudu Haruna, said: “the elector revalidation workout is simply a captious constituent of the Commission’s mandate to support a credible and up-to-date National Register of Voters.
“It is designed to verify and reappraisal existing elector records, guarantee the accuracy of idiosyncratic data, destruct duplicate and ineligible entries, and fortify the wide integrity of the elector register.
