The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Abuja Zone, has condemned the Niger State Government implicit what it described arsenic intimidation, threats and an attempted forceful takeover of the Bosso Campus of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMinna).
The national warned that the quality has escalated into a nationalist contented involving onshore ownership, national authorization and organization autonomy.
The national made its presumption known astatine a property league held astatine FUTMinna’s Gidan-Kwano Campus on the Minna-Bida Road, wherever ASUU Abuja Zonal Coordinator, Prof. Adam Al-Amin Abdullahi, asserted that the Bosso Campus remains the spot of the national authorities and not a leased asset.
He said the field was legally acquired by the national authorities successful 1983 for ₦2.8 cardinal and has remained a national spot since then.
Prof. Abdullahi noted that the situation began aft the Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago publically declared his volition to repossess the campus, claiming that the lease had expired, and subsequently issued discontinue notices successful October and November 2025 directing the assemblage to vacate the premises.
