APC drops six senatorial, 19 Reps candidates in final list to INEC

The All Progressives Congress, APC, National Working Committee, NWC, has dropped erstwhile Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, and 5 different senatorial hopefuls from the party’s last database of candidates submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports that erstwhile House of Representatives subordinate Gbenga Elegbeleye was besides removed from the list, alongside respective others.

The revised database sent to INEC besides excludes 19 House of Representatives contestants who had emerged victorious during the APC superior elections conducted successful May 2026.

According to the papers submitted to INEC, the affected states see Abia, Kogi, Taraba, Benue, Ebonyi, Ondo, Kaduna, Niger, and Kwara.

In a missive addressed to INEC and jointly signed by APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda and National Secretary Ajibola Basiru, the enactment said the changes were made pursuing the recommendations of its Primary Election Appeal Committee.

The missive is titled, ‘Forwarding of approved database of senatorial and House of Representatives candidates’.

The missive read: “We constitute to formally guardant the attached database of the party’s candidates for the affected senatorial and House of Representatives constituencies arising from the study of the Primary Election Appeal Committee.
