AGF withdraws forgery charge against senior lawyer, Ozekhome

The Federal Government has withdrawn the forgery complaint brought against a law lawyer, Professor Mike Ozekhome, SAN.

The complaint was filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and different related offences Commission, ICPC, pursuing a judgement of a London tribunal successful respect of a spot belonging to erstwhile FCT minister, the precocious General Jeremiah Useni.

The Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation, OAGF, had past period taken implicit the lawsuit for effectual prosecution.

But the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation, Mr Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, connected Tuesday told Justice Peter Kekemeke of the FCT High Court that helium was withdrawing the lawsuit record for “further instruction”.

Oyedepo said that the exertion was brought successful enactment with Section 108 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act.

Responding, Paul Erokoro, SAN, who led the defence team, said helium was not opposed to the withdrawal.

In a abbreviated ruling, Justice Kekemeke held that the exertion having not been objected, is granted and the complaint thereby withdrawn and accordingly dismissed.
